About
Annette is an independent expert and consultant on international climate law, international investment law and arbitration, and the role of lawyers in the climate transition. She also accepts appointments as arbitrator.
Prior to co-founding Climate Change Counsel, Annette was Secretary General of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC). She holds more than 25 years’ experience of international law, including from global law firms, and is the founder of the crowdsourcing initiative Stockholm Treaty Lab.
Annette is a frequent speaker on law and climate change, and co-editor of international publications. She is listed as highly recommended in Who’s Who Legal, and Standout in the Rule of Law and Access to Justice category of the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards.

Climate Change Counsel is founded by Annette Magnusson together with former SCC Arbitration colleagues Anja Ipp and Andrina Kjellgren.
2022
The Climate Change Counsel report The Energy Charter Treaty, Climate Change and Clean Energy Transition is awarded the Campaign for Greener Arbitration Award.
2022
Climate Change Counsel works with the Asian Research Institute for Environmental Law to explore the feasibility of a regional body for environmental dispute settlement in the Pacific region.

Annette Magnusson is invited to co-chair the ICCA Panel of Experts to Develop a Paris Agreement Conciliation Annex, together with Catherine Amirfar, Debevoise & Plimpton (New York).

Climate Change Counsel conducts a study on the role of commercial lawyers in the climate transition, in collaboration with JP Infonet. Results are presented in the report Commercial Lawyers and Climate Change.
