WHAT WE DO
Our mission is to accelerate solutions to climate change — by using law to turn climate ambitions into obligations, by mobilising the legal community toward a net zero future, and by providing research and project support to organisations working toward climate neutrality.
RESEARCH AND PROJECT SUPPORT
RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS
How do the developments in climate change law affect a particular organisation or sector? What are the risks and opportunities? Depending on your needs, we may take a deep-dive into the legal and regulatory frameworks, conduct research and interviews, and suggest solutions or courses of action.
We conceive, plan and manage campaigns, publications, and events. Our experience ranges from innovative crowdsourcing initiatives to high-level conferences, and we are plugged into a broad international network of experts and thought leaders.
All business leaders, senior executives and board members today need to have adequate knowledge of climate law, and an understanding of climate-related risks – physical, market, reputational, legal and other risks. Our trainings are based on your organisation’s needs, and can be adapted to address particular challenges facing your industry.
MOBILISING THE LEGAL COMMUNITY
We envision a future where all lawyers are committed to helping their clients reach net zero emissions. To this end, we educate lawyers on climate change, introduce them to the legal frameworks that affect the transition in different sectors, and together explore how to help clients be part of the climate solution.
CLIMATE LAW AND BUSINESS
How can an organization’s climate commitments be embedded in its legal fabric? We look at everything from company bylaws to standard agreements and supplier contracts, to identify where the climate ambitions can be turned into legal obligations.
In partnership with the consultancy MDisputes, Climate Change Counsel assists private and public entities with disputes arising from projects related to climate change and decarbonization. CCC provides research and analysis on the application of laws and regulations, and works with in-house legal departments to prevent and avoid climate-related disputes.
